I am wondering what some of you have put on your bike when upgrading to SS brake lines?

There are several of us in the area that are considering putting on new front lines, probably rear lines, and clutch lines also depending on price and availability. So far pricing has been all over the board, from $269 list for the Speigler, to $200 for the Galfer from Direct Line. Much less $ for make your own kits,  I think we want to stay away from putting them together just for safety sake.

There seems to be a few major manufacturers;
Spiegler
Galfer
Russel
Econoline

Who has used what type?
How well did they fit?
Can you get them a couple inches longer?
What was the pricing?
Any guess who would have 3-4 sets in stock?
Any delivery problems?

Thanks in advance,   Jim

I had to get custom longer lines for my new-valk handlebar mod...
I got spiegler lines, I liked dealing with them and they have
some good you-tube videos that helped with installation. They
send this little tool along that helps to rotate the banjo-end
if needed so there's no twist in the lines. Some people like
the stainless look, but I wanted "normal" looking black lines,
and they have them too. They had no problem matching up
with this funny OEM connector for me...

I rode over to J&P Cycles in Daytona and put together what I needed, all Russel lines. Used a single from the handlebar to a splitter on the lower tree, then two different lengths down to either side of the front wheel. Did the same with the rear wheel, measured it out, found the length needed and installed it. Had to order the clutch line, was too long and had to be made special.

I had the bike there that day and with one of their sales guys at my shoulder, I'd take a line out of the box and hold it up to the bike to see if it reached. After a few tryouts, all was done except for the installation. I don't like the looks or operation of the double line coming from the master cyl. on the handlebar. Simply not needed and more expensive usually.

I just installed Galfer lines on the front.  Galfer does not advertise kits for Valkyries any more but I received them in a package labeled as such.  No measuring and we got a perfect fit.  I purchased them through MadcoRider.com who does advertise these lines.  Paid $131 for the front.  Two forms of rear lines are available, one single line or two shorter lines like the OEM setup.

I purchased a set for the front brakes only for my 1982 SilverWing from JDA Enterprises for about $90 to my door in 2013.  They were made ready to install and fit perfectly.  I would imagine the front lines for the Valkyrie would be a similar price.
