interstate trunk removal..........to be repaired

i have 2 holes that need to be repaired. 1 on the trunk body and 1 on the lid.....(please don't ask me why)......to embarrassing.
anyway, i have a guy that can fix them but would prefer if i just brought the trunk to him.
how hard is it to remove the trunk, i know there are lights that need to be disconnected some way and I also have rear speakers in the seat pods.
it looks pretty straight forward but not being mechanically inclined just wanted to know before I start what precautions I need to take.
Sure would be easier for me if he could fix the trunk while attached but he has no storage place for the bike.

Its not that hard.... and it would be best to take it off as the bottom is 2 pieces and has an inner liner/section that would have to be removed to do a repair right or better ( could probably do it with out taking apart )..... the top is one piece, but is hollow....
If your guy is going to paint the whole thing, you would save a lot of time taking the whole thing apart yourself and just sending him the top and lower outer shell.......
And while it is off is a good time to do the bracket mod for Super Valk....LOL

I can't really remember, but the horizontal bolt is a false head, and the proper one is in the trunk?
