OK..I've put the carbs back together after repairing a fuel rail leak, and used D-Ray's method of bench synching carbs, but not sure how close I was able to get it.

If anyone in my area has the ability to check sync, help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much!

How does it run? Does it idle properly? Does it idle down as it should?

If you can answer affirmatively, I would say you're Ok and not really

needing anything else.  Now, I omitted anything regarding popping out

the exhaust because having any modifications will affect this particular

area. However, if you exhaust is completely stock there should be no

popping and if it were to do so, after messing with the carburetors, then

that would be an indication that a synchronization would be in order, barring

any vacuum or exhaust leaks.

Hey Ricky-D

Thanks for the question.  I'm getting popping, but I was getting that before.  I've got the Cobra 6 n 6 pipes.

I've noticed a bit of variation in the idle speed more than I had before, so thought that it might be one of the symptoms.  It'll idle at different RPMs, probably based on engine temperature.

Overall, I think the bench sync eyeball test got me pretty close, but was hoping to verify or make any necessary tweaks for optimum running.

If 95 miles isn't too far, I bet the Carolina Bike and Trike guy in
Moorsville, NC could and would do it.

Thanks, Mike!  I'll keep that in mind for my next "customer visits" trip that direction.

Sync is really easy to do, just get you a couple gauges from harbor freight some air hose and a couple of those little regulators like you would use on a fish tank to regulate the air stones. 25 bucks worth of parts and you will be on your way to doing your own.

I just built one of those digital sync gauges and used it tonight to sync my interstate project.

I am a pretty nice guy and would be glad to let you use it to do your sync for some beer and the shipping costs.  I did the eyeball sync on mine also and they were very close when I hooked them up.  All within 5, but once I got the gauge on it I was able to get them all within 1 on the gauge.
