I found this on the garage floor tonight...rubber pieces.

Found them on the rim too

Looks like its coming out of the dust cover

I'm thinking dampners??? These are the neoprene knockoffs that a member used to make, supposed to be better than OEM. You think that's my culprit?

Doug

Clean out your shop vacuum.  Use it to suck out that opening.  Look in the vacuum and see if you get more pieces.  If it is the dampers the drive line slop will be pretty bad.  But you knew that already.

My vote is the dampers coming apart.

I would say dampers.  I wouldn't ride it until I knew.

+1! I'm with Terry. If you don't have driveline slop it's only because all the failed pieces have not dislodged yet.  Sad

Man, that stinks brother, sorry to hear, only one way to find out for sure.
Time to take the wheel off and see what is happening.

I have not heard of the dampeners coming apart like that, you think this is a first?

Keep us posted on the outcome and hope you can get back on the road soon.

He made a bad batch of them, several others have had them come apart. Looks like the polyurethane was mixed wrong and made them brittle.

If you get in a pinch Doug, I have a good set of used ones.

Thanks for the offer Bill. cooldude
I found a new set that I forgot I stashed for my CT wheel, before it slipped the race and crapped itself. Just waiting on some O-rings and thrust washer.
