Must admit they look a lot better in person than in pics. Still just a
skinny v-twin, though. But can anybody 'splain to me why Honda,
in it's infinite wisdom, didn't throw a VTX 1800 motor in it instead
of the 1300!?!? It's not like they're gonna use 'em for anything else uglystupid2

Been sitting there at my local shop for weeks and weeks.  Sat on it myself, looks like it would be FUN to ride, but it also looks like I'd be stopping for gas every 75 miles.  $15K out the door seems reasonable, if I were so inclined ($15k would get me the I/S of my dreams with every bauble I can imagine!)

A theory offered by a friend of mine was that the 1800 would have required a much larger and impossible to conceal radiator. I think he's right. Another theory is that the different firing order on the 1300 was deemed more "radical." And you're right, it does look better in person, but that is damning with very faint praise. It does have one distinction, however; it's the perfect bike to ride to a biker bar if you're suicidal.

While the 1800 would have been wicked quick, I believe the fury will turn out to be a low sales volum ,mistake  in a growing list of mistakes and loss opertunities by honda in recent years...

It's nice, but with the 1300, it should be a $9,000 bike.
The old, tired looking turn signals that honda has been using for 20 years on the shadows and valkyries need to go.
Rear tire should be wider.
Should be belt or chain driven (for looks and versatility)

What about the Yamaha Raider S, seems to offer more bang for the buck

I have not seen the Fury live in Canada yet, but it retails for $16,500 ( the special edition matte one with black rims)

Yeah, you're probably right. But I wasn't looking to buy, just looking. There's really
not a v-twin on the market that I find seriously interesting. I like the 1800 Wing, and I
almost like the Rocket III, but like I said, not looking to buy. cooldude

One advantage is that it should pass through airport security relatively easily. It appears to be constructed primarily of plastic.

I feel the same as you Bashfulbob, Rocket III is nice but I really cannot get rid of the valk.  I rode with five bikes on Saturday, all much newer than my 2001 Standard, and they really gawked at the valk.  It is very impressive and remains a very serious head turner and PERFORMER in its class

the 1300 motor is alot more radical than what one might think. HUGE cams and crazy firing order, short stroke big hole. that 1300 is quite impressive with the RIGHT rider on it. 90% of all riders I know or have met tend to shift quickly, or short shift. They dont let the rpms reach maximum hp range and when they shift to next gear, the bike falls on its face.

I rode a fury and at 255 lbs, Id say it has PLENTY of pep. I even considered possibly one in the future...very comfortable and slim. I wont say itd be great for the long haul but, as far and bar hoppers go? Its got my vote.

Friend of mine picked one up last week.  I spent a half-hour looking it over and sitting on it.  Perty stylish for a factory scoot.  A nice boulevard cruiser for the short hops.  A basic no frills machine.  Kinda like the old school bobber look with modern technology.  Very low ground clearance.  Grinds the pegs without trying.   Cool

Dogg, let me know how you like the Raider
I think the Warrior will be discontinued to be replaced by the Raider. A Yamaha rep told me this.  I am considering a bar hopper
I know this is a valk site and do not want to upset the users so send me a message, OK?

I think the 1300 motor with the single pin crank was the right choice for this bike for the better sound than the 1800. As well as to better conceal the radiator, not really my kind of bike. As stated above I would opt for the Yamaha Raider or Warrior.
