I have to go to French Lick this weekend from CHicago. Is the by pass 465 south still under construction going towards the airport? Not sure if I want to take 65 down or maybe take 57 south to 74 then 41 south? Just curious as to how the roads are as up here they are all torn up with resurfacing stimulus plan??????? Thanks.

Someone closer maybe able to help better. We went around by the airport near the end of July and it was still under construction. Good surface. We made it through easy tho, but it was on a Sunday. You could go around to the east side on 465 and pick up 65 south. Or try US 31 south. I believe 65 s is all done with construction. It has been over a year since I was south of Indy on 65. When I was on 465 E there was no construction in May, to 65 S or US 31. Watch your speed tho, it 'says' 55 mph, but you will get eatin' alive if you do it. Gonna be busy with race traffic no matter what way you go. Lot of bikes and cages. If you roll thru on sat, look us up at Hooters of Greenwood on US 31.

Probably best to avoid 465 during any time during rush hour.  If you have to go that way, expect possible long delays in traffic and the crazies.
I would suggest a western route if possible. 41 to Vincennes and then 150 across to French Lick would be a decent ride.  Also 231 down to 150 is a nice ride.  It would possibly be a shorter ride for you if you went a western route vs around Indy.  There is no FAST, direct route to French Lick.  Let us know if you hit the casino. 

If you go 231, wave as you go thru Crawfordsville.
