I have a decent, i.e., functional, set of OEM shocks but the bushings are rounded out. I want to use them on my GL1200 restoration but not in the shape they now are. Any suggestions other than a dealer for some good replacements. Or....if you have a decent set taking up space, let me know.

Yes, stockers off my '98 Tourer. They fit OK and are much shorter than the 14.25" units on there now. Darn thing sits so high it gives me a nosebleed every time I sit on it.  Grin

VTX shock bushings, 52489-HN0-671, are more durable than OEM Valkyrie bushings and fit perfectly. Is it that you don't want to buy them from a dealer, or you don't like what you have now?

Just didn't want the same lame bushings the OEM shocks came with, I'll take a look at the VTX you referenced. As for what I now have, they're a big goose egg in shape so need replacing. Shocks are still OK to use and I'll probably mount them until I get new bushings. The originals on the 1200 are ridiculous, over 14" plus they're shot so figured might as well use something off the shelf. The box I had them in will make room for some other stuff I need to get off the floor.  Wink

OK, just looked at the VTX and it only uses one bushing at the bottom and a bearing at the top. So, do you guys simply order four and they fit both ends of the Valk OEM shocks?

I used McMaster-Carr nylon bearings on my VTX and they lasted over 70k.
Their stock # is 6389K344, at the time they went for 6 bucks for a bag of 5.
They call them bearings, I called them bushings.
