I have posted before that I like swat style boots for riding.  Comfortable right out of the box, and you can get waterproof or not, zips or laces, steel/hard/or normal toes, insulated or not, etc. All have good traction and all are great for walking when you get off the bike.

Anyway, how about insulated waterproofs for $40 (the only drawback I have found, is that a cordura tongue may let a little more air in than you would like while riding in the colder temps...though waterproof liner and 200 thinsulate should offset this somewhat)

I just got these to replace my lighweight summer boots which are getting pretty worn out.  Several good coats of Kiwi on damp cotton will keep these nearly waterproof.  $35

This is not a bad site to add to favorites.  Only thing is it takes about 6-8 days to get your stuff.  I do most of my bike gear shopping from 'closeouts' anymore.

Hey Jess,
That's a great web-site. I use those boots, great flexibility and support. Great traction while stopped with feet planted on the ground. I also use the Serpa holster for my .45 Combat Commander and was told they didn't make one for my wifes "Lady Smith". I see on this web-site they do make one for the .38 snubbies! Good stuff! Best tactical combat carry holsters made cooldude Thanks for posting.

I still prefer Herman Survivors from Wal-Mart, water resistent, oil resistent sole, breathe (some form of Gore-Tech), very comfortable for riding or walking and you can get a steel toe or just a harden toe. My only complaint is that they are becoming popular .... price has gone up to $40. But I just walk in, go to the back where the boots are, grab a 10 1/2 D, try it on ... yep it fits and then check-out. Entire process takes 15 - 20 minutes.  cooldude

I too, prefer the tactical boots for riding and walking comfort, but have been paying $100 or so.  I just ordered the pair you suggested, water proof and insulated, for the "other" season up here in Illinois. $40 can't be beat for those features.

All my good CCW holsters are IWB strongside or back carry, and I just cannot use them while riding.  I always have a pistola handy on the bike/car, just not on my person, though where I ride is pretty benign.  Course an airweight J frame goes in a bike jacket pretty easily....but in HOT weather, no jacket for me (my bad).

I ordered a pair of the http://www.lapolicegear.com/magnum-stealth-force-8-insulated-water-proof-boot.html and liked them so much I ordered another pair to keep around to use after the first pair becomes unservicable.

I have these and love them.  They are lightweight, water resistant, feels like wearing a hightop sneaker.  Also, they have a low profile which is good for my size 12 feet.
