Warren was truly one of the good guys.  He was a fellow VHF/UHF operator for many years.  In the early 90's there was a group of 3 or 4 guys in that area that were  the "big guns".  They had very good equipment and could be heard all over.  I sat on the tailgate of his pickup with him and we talked of old times last year at the Tampa tailgate/hamfest.  I don't do much HF but some friends of mine that check in with the SouthCars net said that Warren was net control on that quite often.
