I got the-one-they-had... non ABS... the brakes seem great. I've never had
an ABS motorcycle, I like it on cars, it is probably worth having...

I got the ABS version only because it was the only one they had left.
I haven't tried them out yet, but if I had the choice, I would have saved the money and got the non-ABS vesion.  I have never had them before so I don't feel that I need them.  All these fancy things put on cars and motorcycles just make people worst drivers I think.  They rely on the new safety features too much.
I will tell you one thing, the new valk's brakes are a heck of a lot better than my old Interstate.

60-0 mph braking tests in magazines have proved otherwise.

Thank you everyone for your input, at $12,800 for ABS, fog lights, windscreen, bags and blacked out chrome and 123 miles does this seem like a good deal?

If that is the same one on ebay.  I really considered that bike.  Even with the currency exchange rate it was a bargain.  I just didn't like the Honda bags or windscreen, so I decided to buy one here in Canada.  If the exchange rate had been better,  I would have bought one in the US.  That is where I bought my Interstate 12 years ago.

CA,

Those tests were for the old standard valk.  I said the brakes on my new valk are better than my old Interstate.  I never rode a standard so I can't compare it to my new Valk.  Maybe your Interstate's brakes were great but I did not find my old one great.  I find these really good.  Which is what I would expect for a bike that is about 150lbs lighter.

the rest of my post below if u didn't read it. I/S 60-0 116'.
(I have a std converted to a tourer with I/S tank).
the new valkyrie might have a nicer feel to the brakes, it might have that high initial brake torque jolt that the rider perceives as great brakes (similar to what EBC brakes do), etc., but it has a much longer stopping distance than the Original, most likely due to the skinny front tire losing traction aka a lot of HDs. the test ride magazines all are showing similar long stopping distances, they can't all be wrong.
 Rider beware.

new vette less than 100' 60-0 mph,  progress!
I would think a newest latest designed 14k bike at 750lbs would have better braking 60-0mph 123.7' than even the '99 valkyrie tourer @ 776 lbs 60-0mph 114'
even the F6B at 102lbs more than the '14 valkyrie only needs 2 extra ft to stop and the 909lb GL1800 needs only 2 ft more than that at 127.4'.
 the 833lb I/S stopped in 116'.
I think that is unsafe engineering on honda's part to make the new valkyrie faster but cheap out on the brakes.
If I'm on a bike that runs 0-60 in under 4 sec, I need better brakes than honda provided for the '14 GW Valkyrie.
Owners/riders should be aware.

Does the abs model have self cancelling turn signals?  That would be nice but I don't particularly care for abs on bikes myself.   I don't live up north though or ride in severe weather for the most part so it's not a big deal to me.

I have not rode the bike yet, maybe this weekend.  Are the self cancelling stock or after market?  It is used so I avoid all the added fees of a new bike, just tax and doc fee

My ABS model does have the self cancelling signal lights.  I am so used to turning them off myself that I had to restrain myself to check to make sure that they do.

Are you sure Mike?  I thought all the black ones had ABS.

I'm pretty sure, I changed the front brake lines  Smiley ...

I think maybe the abs ones were only black, but they
had black normal-brake ones too.

My ABS model has a metal line that goes from the ABS unit to the front brake line on the right hand side.  That is going to be a pain in the butt if I have to lengthen the brake line for my risers to fit, that I want to put on.  tickedoff
Not sure how hard it will be to bleed the system if I do change the line and I may have to get a special line made.  I will need one end with the banjo for the master and the other with a female end to screw into the steel line coming from the ABS unit.  I guess I will worry about that later.  Maybe a winter project.
