Work sucks _Let's ride

West Virgina

« on: August 26, 2009, 07:11:04 PM »

Mark "3fan4life" was showing a couple that he rides with, around here in the Greenbrier Valley. Coming off Droop Mountian they ran across some gravel and slid out striking a SUV with their Yamaha. The bike is pretty trashed, The guy" Gunthre looks to have a broken collar bone and a few scuffs. The lady "Lisa" has a wrist injury,a hip that is stiff,a nasty knot under one eye and some rash.  Both appear to be lucky to not be hurt worse.Ginger drove over from Roanoke to carry them to a hospital near their home. I have their bike secured on my trailer until they are able to pick it up. Prayers for a complete and quick recovery.

I am so sorry to hear of the accident  Cry and for that matter anyone who has one, if you are anything like me I ride because I just love it and the thought of anyone being hurt riding is sad for me. I hope they recover fully and have no lasting problems because of it.
I too will be heading that way from Florida the end of next week and I will be looking out for the gravel and the other dangers a bit harder.
Ride safe everyone

Hate to hear that Wolf.  I really enjoyed riding the roads in West Virginia a couple of weeks ago with you but we did run into gravel on a good many roads.  Wish for a speedy recovery for your two friends.

I always dreamed of riding the Valkyrie down 219 from Ronceverte to 460, but once I actually did it, I noticed
how many driveways and how much gravel was on it...

Prayers for the couple who went down...

Gunther and Lisa got out of the ER about 4:00 AM this morning.

He has a broken collar bone and she has alot of bumps and bruises.

All in all they were VERY lucky they could've been hurt much worse.

WV has some really good roads for riding but the loose gravel is a major issue right now.

This is Gunther and his Royal Star.

Ron,

Thanks again for everything that you did yesterday, it is GREATLY appreciated!

and thanks to everyone for all the prayers and well wishes, I'll be sure and pass them along.

You just can't say enough about the caliber of people in this club. Especially when people are willing to go out of their way to help a "friend of a friend" that they don't even know.

Best wishes from NM!  I had an accident last week too and was overwhelmed with prayers and well wishes from all over the country from VRCC members.  Glad to hear you joined the ranks of motorcycle accidentalists who lived through the trauma.  Gotta admit its a shitty club, but I'll take it over the alternative...  Here's to a speedy recovery

Thoghts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Now since the yamaha is gone he could pickup a nice I/S. and become family. Glad to hear their injuries were not life threating, thou still no fun.
