Does anyone have any experience with the service department at Hap's. Looks like major work needed. Yes, looks like "that".

Go to Haps all the time. Good mechanics that are always into fabrication and custom projects not just parts changers however stick with the Members who do this if you can, a dealer would require a co-signer.

How certain are you that it's hydrolock? Did you try to start it and the engine sorta "froze" after a partial revolution? Did you keep hitting the start button? Have you pulled the starter and looked at the teeth in there to determine they're actually broken? If you take it to a dealer, plan on at least $1500 or more....usually more. Take TJ's advice and try to work with one of our members, it will be less cost and you'll learn while doing it.

Thanks for the replies. haven't pulled the starter yet. that is the next step for me. Just looking for advice at this point. Wondered if it could be in reduction gear case. Bike ran fine one day, next day it sounded like it was coming apart. Wasn't sure it was hydrolock, just had OEM petcock installed. Pulled plugs, no sign of gas. Will try to bump start it in the morning. Will be on hold for a few days starting Thursday, taking the Wing to Leesburg. will follow the posts on my phone while I am away. Thanks again!

When you pulled the plugs did you turn the engine over? You won't necessarily see the gas in the cylinder but if it's there, it will shoot out a few feet when you bump the starter.

From description it sounds like it was running? Just sounded like it was coming apart? If so it could be the clutch .

I'm down in Golden Gate Estates, near Naples. I'm not a mechanic but have done my own work on the carbs, front wheel and rear end services.
PM sent.
