Hi y'all!     Got the new float valves installed, air cleaner replaced, danmarc too, she runs down the road as expected.
However, she is darned hard to start cold, and after about 25 miles or so, when I have to stop for a red light, she wants to die from too much fuel. Mileage sucks. Tailpipes are black. No black smoke (that I can see, but I can smell it).
Any thoughts? THANK YOU in advance.

Check and see if your enricher valves are sticking open.

Too many variables to guess. New floats, set right?? How were the needles and seats? Could be leaking.
What main needles do you have? DynaJet?? Pilot valves? Should be from 1 3/4 to 2 1/4 turns out from lightly seated. What pipes, how much backpressure?   Does the fuel enrichment cable operate all the valves? Are any of the stuck open?

New float needles, cleaned and inspected, stock exhaust, unknown brand of jets. All fuel enrichment valves are free. I will retrace my steps regarding the pilot valves in the a.m.
BTW, thanks for the prompt reply/suggestions!
