Gwinnett County Assistance Request
«
on:
August 28, 2009, 06:34:26 AM »
Anyone in Gwinnett County, NE Atlanta Metro, willing to help me clean my carbs? My bike is suffering from alcohol poisoning. In an effort to help stimulate the economy, I'd also consider paying someone experienced in carb rehab. to do the work.
Thanks,
Scott

in high concentrations? I took my tank off when it suffered the same problem and ran an external tank 1/2 Seafoam and 1/2 gasoline. I figured out the offending side by holding a sheet of paper at the exhaust and looking for irregular pulses. You might start it cold and see which cylinder is cold. Some swear by Techron, I also squirted a little carb cleaner in with it running and the airbox off. Let it sit for a day or so, once you know you have some in all the carbs. Mine was fine after following these procedures.
Oh, and I'm in Fl. so can't give local help. Maybe someone will step up to the plate.

to Louisiana I'll clean them for you. It's not real hard to do and I could turn them around in a few days

I've tried Seafoam (a LOT). Now I'm on Lucas, and I'll move to Techron if that doesn't work. I'm going to take it out on Monday, so I'll try to find the offending chamber. Thanks for the advice, and the offer of wrenching on it. While I'd like the trip (my Mom's family is from Port Arthur, TX)., heading down to LA isn't in the cards right now.

Try this if nothing else works, garyshobbieshop.com Trike builder in my neck of the woods said he sends all his Goldwing or Valkyrie carb work to these guys. Another option is to call Two Brothers tires in Lawrenceville, I have asked them in the past about carb work and I think he uses a guy in Cumming IIRC. Let me know what you find I may need them sometime.
