I'm thinking of adding a pair of Honda bags. Any opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Only two options at this time are OEM and Corbin hardbags.  No one has tried mounting any aftermarket bags to the OEM brackets yet......

IMO they are as good quality as is available in other markets, they will remain ridged. I like the way they open. The mountings went together without any issues, everything lined up properly and tightened up as designed. I'm not a big fan of leather bags but I do like the way they look on the Valk. I mostly use a 55 litre Hepco & Becker top box mounted on the OEM rear rack for daily errands.

I did have one issue mounting, you need to remove both passenger foot pegs in order to remove the plastic cover behind them, that is where 1 mount hole is located for the saddlebag brackets, the left peg bracket bolt would not move, I ended up just letting it break. The bike is at the dealer now, they do believe it is a warranty repair. I could drill it out myself but I believe Honda should be aware of this annoying issue.

Oddly enough I had a similar issue with my 2012 NC700DCT, the handlebar clamp bolt did exactly the same thing, the risers are molded into the top clamp so they replaced it. Honda was most interested in getting the defective part back saying this never happened before, NOW, how did this happen to me a second time in 2.5 years????

My 2003 Suzuki Volusia handlebars mounting was the same way. They must not believe in anti-seize on bolts

They are middle of the road as bags go, but do not have locks on them,
I could have probably addapted a set of hard mt. leather bags, but didnt want to take the time. Had a trip planned and wanted to pack, I put red inserts on the top of the bags and had the bar pad recovered in the same red vinal, just makes it easy to spot my bike in a long line or croud, good luck to you, will watch for other comments

I like the Honda bags myself. But the Corbin hard bags are deadly - i will definitely upgrade to those at some point.

You may want to look at the Corbin bags before you spend the money.  They look great, but are way too small.

great advice - you lose about 2 litres/0.5 Gallon of volume storage on the Corbin bag compared to Honda bags. But dang are those Corbin fleet liner bags ever sexy... and much more secure if you want to just lock and leave the contents in the bag while you step away from the bike for a while.

I can get a 3-overnight ride out of them. They rock for day-to-day. Can
mount a Givi case to the rear rack for longer...
