I read somewhere that someone couldn't find the accessory socket on the Interstate. Well I need it now and I cant find it. Ive looked everywhere behind the RHS panel. There is a red wire with an insulator on it there is a green wire next to it with a bare male terminal on it. There is also a small block connector with three wires on it. No idea what that's for. The manual says the accessory live/hot is white and black. I cant find it HELP  Sad

You will have to dig for it, but it is there. if I remember right and the first owner
did not move it. It should be in it,s own little boot  under the right side cover.

Here is a Standard (ignore the question marks).  Not sure if the Interstate is the same.

Thanks for taking the time to post the photo. That's a great help. That looks obviously enough but I still cant find it. Why would anyone get rid  ???

No mate, not the AUX. I have that. I think there should be an ACC power supply. The manual says there is and there is an ACC fuse ????

While you are at it, why don't you snap a photo and post it at the forum? It is always a good idea to contribute back to VRCC.

Go to "copy link to clipboard", click "IMG", go back to your reply and in place of message text right click and paste.  Sounds more complicated than it is.

I believe they are part of the CB wiring.

I'm following along as well in hopes to get a wire run up to the handlebars for a cell phone.

It appears the wire runs through a black rubber sheath, and I read in the previously linked thread that there are in fact two wires, a positive and a negative.  Can anyone confirm that these wires are the switched "accessory" wires?

How about a Volt meter? They can be had for $10 or even less.

I dont think those wires are the accessory wires. If there the wires I think they are one is hot and other is a ground. But, the voltage output is about 5 to 6 volts, at least in my case. One wire is red and the other green. As I said above they are needed for the CB. The accessory wire is blue and white striped (as I recall) out of the fuse box and then gets lost in the overall wiring loom going toward the front of the bike. Apparently, it surfaces again but I've never found it on my bike as others have.

The way I found the accessory wires on my standard was to undo the cable clamps on the frame, and pull the main wiring harness out of them. The accessory connector was wrapped up back there in a way that it could not be seen without pulling the harness out of the clamps.

I was doing some other wiring work at the time I found it as I had been convinced for awhile that my bike did not have the accessory connector.  I had looked for it many times and never found it.  It's back there Salty1.

Yep that's the ones. I fount that they are only hot with ignition on and not ACC ? don't know why but the are. As stated the other ones have a high volt drop. Get right under the bike and have a good look with a torch. As stated they are there  Shocked

those are the Acc wires. one is + one- you will have to use a test light to find the + one. the 3 wire plug. is for a CB. its the power plug.
