Hello I believe its back in but went to flush clutch removed float(white plastic) and found a little tin piece in corner. I think I have it back in right it has three fingers on it I have those pointing up in what I will call a valley around one hole and a little finger I am guessing goes over other hole. I put it in there but its just does not look right. Looked at parts screen it looks like finger point up. Just checking.  Thank you

Huh? That post makes zero sense without a bit more info.

Take a look at your other reservoir specifically at the fluid level window. Do you see the metal insert behind the window. Is that the metal piece your talking about?

The piece is call a "protector". It goes in to cover a bypass hole that otherwise spews fluid in a column jet upwards and squirts fluid all over when you're bleeding your brakes and the fluid level gets low. I've been looking for a picture for the proper placement but have come up dry so far.

From looking at the exploded parts diagram it looks like the three prongs point upward and the piece drops down into the what you're calling the valley. It sure sounds like it's fitted how you described.

Thank you. And yup it definitely stops fluid from shooting all over when letting go of lever.

Those are easy to dislodge when cleaning out the gunk in the reservoir. I have done it dozens of times.
