Okay, I just purchased my new 2014 Blue Valkyrie last Saturday; what a KILLER bike! Cheesy  Anyway, I've owned 4 street bikes since 1983 including my new Valkyrie.  Started WAY back in the mid 1970s with my first Honda, an XR-75...I've always owned Hondas with the exception of one Kawasaki Vulcan in which was just 'meh'...I love Hondas!

Anyway, saw the new Valk last summer while I was at the dealer getting a new bulb for my 2003 Honda Sabre Shadow 1100.  Fell in love with the looks immediately...threw my leg over it and I was like.."oh yeah, this will be mine"...well until I saw the 18K price tag.  I quickly put it out of my mind and continued riding my Sabre (which was also a killer bike)...THEN I saw and heard of the great deals they had on the new GL1800C...and voila...I bought it quickly trading in my mint conditioned Sabre.  I only have a chance to put on about 185 miles since I took it home with 3...I work mega hours so riding time is minimal...

I have a few questions for you Valk savvy dudes...

1. Have you noticed an increase in HP as you added miles from when it had none?
2. What's up with the seat? Not the most comfortable thing out there..any obvious fixes?
3. How careful do I really need to be during break in?
4. K&N air filters available yet?

I appreciate in advance for any replies..i look forward to learning allot from you guyz!

No a big increase in power as it breaks in... but it does smooth out even more after 10K miles.

Break in procedure...  well... my dealer told me to ride it like I stole it.  Seems to have worked well so far...    Evil

# 2 and 4... I don't know.  I have the Wing.

Congrats on the new ride.  Enjoy it!!   cooldude

#2 - Cut up yours or buy an aftermarket.  The seat is terrible.

#4 - Yes, just do a Google search for "2014 Valkyrie K&N" they're $57

Welcome to the enlightened ones!!!  Bought mine Thursday

2) I really like the seat but have Corbin two up on order.  Will use stock seat when running solo.

**Which seat would you recommend?**  Don't need the backrest...

Someone else will have to answer that one.  I have a stock seat.  I'm sure any aftermarket brand will be fine.  On bikes I've previously owned, any of the big brands like Corbin or Mustang worked well.
