Beautiful east Tennessee ( GOD'S Country )

« on: August 30, 2009, 03:45:18 PM »

Took off this morning with ( 4 ) bikes to ride the  Tennessee / North Carolina mountains. We could not have picked better weather it was cloudy and cool and the best part no rain.Picture below is the bike shed at the Exxon in Tellico Plains , Tennessee.

It's a 6 mile detour to get here but just about everytime I ride The Cherohala Skyline I ride out to check Bald River Falls out. I love that little skinny road that gets you to here with the Bald River running beside you all the way.

Nice picture of my Interstate at Bald River Falls if I do say so myself  Smiley

Some pictures of our ( 1 ) stop on the Skyline. Heavy clouds hide the beautiful mountains.

Made a stop in Robbinsville ,NC to talk with Miss Reba at The Phillips Motel about our upcoming ride..." The Fall Color Ride " I'll post more details about that later. Then it was on to Deal's Gap . When we came through The Dragon only one cop was working but we did pass another down near the lake. The Tree Of Shame is loaded this year  Sad

This belonged to a Pennsylvania rider we met at Deal's Gap. I like the way he followed the stock lines and still made it a custom paint job.I like the color combo also  cooldude

Nice pics. That's one of my favorite loops as well. Haven't had a chance to get the Valk there yet though. Here's some other bikes I've had at Bald river Falls.

no diving, though, too easy to find a rock with your head

The Interstate ride's and runs great but I don't need 3 Valkyries . I've not rode it since The Blue / Gray Ride and thought I'd better stir the oil in it  Wink

We ride every weekend Paul you know you are welcome anytime you can make it  cooldude

Other than Lucky 13 who lives about 2 miles from me you are more than likely the next closest Valkyrie owner yet I've never met or had the pleasure of sharin' the wind with you ....What's up with that ?  We ride every weekend  year around and have went so far as to get caught out in a snow strom on Mt. Rogers in Va. If you can make a ride come join us  cooldude

Looking forward to The Fall Color Ride. I'm taking the week off and will be riding part of the Ohio River Valley and then wander around parts of  West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. Should be able to make it over to Tennessee Thursday evening for us to meet up again.

See you at CBR and don't forget them fancy rain boots.
