Hi Paul,

Started  a new thread.

I still have my mounted front tire from the IS. I have a spare rear rim, black painted, and I cant remember if there is bearings or not.

That Austone was so good when I first took it out at low speed, I didn't even know I had changed it from a MC tire. But it did raise my bike higher, it was a lot easier to lift up onto the centre stand. A concern I know for you.

I also still have a Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread, new, 205/65-16 I think, so I went to the larger diameter than stock. But I don't think there is too many who still use this tire. It will make it easier for you standing the bike up straight. But it has the draw back of a CT in handling the corners. But you are an experienced driver.

I'm home for 2 more nights, maybe drop by and try it? I'm not going anywhere, trying to put things together for the trip.

Hey Gord,

Yeah, I thought about the height issue shortly after I posted.  Height is a huge concern for me because of the short stumps I have for legs. I am already at my height limit so I may just have to bite the bullet and get a MC rear tire. I noticed that GW's use a shorter stock rear tire than the Valk. This may be a good option for me to give me a little more leg length.

Going to get my windsheild cut down professionally next week. Did my own on the T but this sheild is much wider meaning more room for error.

I was looking at the weather in Leavenworth this weekend.....33 on Saturday and 35 on Sunday. I'm probably going to be sitting around bored out of my mind so I might join you Saturday morning as far as Ellensburg, head north at Ellensburg and come home on hwy 2 or hwy 20 (depending on the time). Still have to check with the boss but will confirm either way by Friday morning. What time you planning on crossing the boarder Saturday morning?

Hi Paul,

Have you thought of your tire? Was it both or only one you want to change?

You still need to sit on my bike and see how the height is for you.

Like I mentioned, I have the mounted front wheel and a spare rear rim and CT, for the Valkyrie.

Hey Gord,

I would really like to put a CT on the back, simply because I go through a rear tire every year and a half (15,000 + km). The problem, as you know, is bike height. I am at my absolute height limit right now unless I change to shorter shocks like I did on my T.

I am considering the Goldwing bike tire. I've been told it is shorter than the Valk tire. Do you know for a fact that the stock Goldwing rear has a lower profile than our stock Valk tires?

Not sure.

I was thinking for you to go to the Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread, the 205/55-16. This is a smaller tire than stock, with a flat profile, so it should lower the bike for you and make it want to stand upright after you get it off the kick stand.

Have you seen Dag's post on youtube of him riding it?

You would just have a little more effort in the corners to keep it steering.
