I know there has been alot of talk about the windshields but no one has said what it takes to mount the factory one. I was looking at the instructions and is it true that there are only 2 mounts to the handle bars for it? The dealer wants to charge me 1.5 hrs for installing it and was considering it because when I pick the bike up I wanted it on but not for 1.5 hrs labor when I can do it myself. If you have installed one please describe the install.

The install was easy. Took about 1/2 hour.

Wink I had the dealer put one on but he threw the entire thing in with the bike. If you have any ability you will be fine doing it yourself. Very well built, not to large and keeps the wind off me. I love mine, looks great. 2 people will make it easy. just be careful not to scratch the handlebars when placing the mounts on them. If you do, touch up with black paint. I wish they were chrome, much tougher but love the bike. coolsmiley

Thanks for posting...Have you really had some time to test the  bike with it on? How wind does it block?  Does it nearly eliminate bugs and road debris from hitting you?  How about wind blast/noise?  Also, could you kindly post a photo of your bike with the windshield?  Thanks! cooldude

Picked up the factory windshield from the dealer today after the dentist appointment and just installed it tonight and went for a ride. Easy to install and a great windshield my eyesight is just over the top of the sheild. At highway speeds its great not much wind but enough to keep you cool handling is not effected and looks pretty good. Install was a big nothing took about half an hour and that was with me actually doing measurements for alignment.  Grin Nothing like being a bit overly careful installing it. To me makes the bike much more manageable that wind at highway speeds was no joke and even certain roads my face felt like a scene from the matrix kind of sliding to the side. Pics will come just to late to do it tonight. Now the bags and ready for a couple of small trips. The more I ride this bike the more I really love it. Tight slow turns are absolutely no problem at all.

It does everything you asked about and more noise is nothing really. I will post some pics of my bike for you.
