I bled my clutch the other day. I can verify that it was done properly. While riding yesterday, I noticed that clutch fluid seems to be leaking out of the fluid reservoir through the edges of the fluid level view window (drops and streaks forming, even as I wipe them off)! Wtf? Did I overfill the reservoir? If so, is the leaking sort of an "overfill protection" thing, or do I have a leak? If I have a leak, what can I do about it? If it makes any difference, it seems that this leaking only occurred at speed. Not when I was going 30km/hr but more like 60-80.

No, it is not supposed to leak around the view window, no matter how full it is. Also, I don't know if there is a way to seal it; IOW, you might be in the market for a replacement reservoir. I've never seen one leak that hadn't been hit with something, though, so it sure make me wonder how it started leaking.

Well, I doubt I'm going to putz around with this. I'd rather just replace it. With that said:

I'm seeing 2 part numbers for the master cylinder sub-assembly...

One is 22890-MZ0-006 for around $300

The other is 22890-MZ0-A41 for around $80

Which do i need? With my luck, I already know the answer. Can anyone shed some light on this for me (why 2 part numbers, and which one is correct)? My ride is a '97 1500C

u sure its not the top cover gasket which is leaking? screws need to be made a little tighter? some dirt/etc., got in the sealing area of the gasket/cover?
did u equally tighten down screws until fully tight?
possible just bent/cracked cover?
never really heard of anybody having a problem with the site glass.

Absolutely sure. I checked all of the items you mentioned. I noted as i was driving and you could see the fluid collecting along the ring of the sight glass.

Well, i'm thinking i should try and repair it before I drop serious coin on a replacement MC.

Would this Wing sight lens be compatible?

Used this as replacement when I removed the originals and sent my master cylinders for powder coating. I had to use a dremel and slightly enlarge the hole and I used a bench vise to press it in.

If it's really leaking through the glass It would seem to me speed should have no effect on the leak.  However, speed (increased air pressure). Would help make an issue with the reservoir top worse

Procaliber has your master cylinder for $235.10

http://www.procaliber.com/oemparts/a/hon/506cb5dff870023420a4167c/clutch-master-cylinder

Still kinda pricey, but better than $300

Actually, that's $316 CDN before shipping and customs, so not better than $300.

Do what you want but when mine started leaking on my 84 wing I cleaned the area and covered it with pc7. An epoxy similar to jb weld.
