I'm looking to buy a luggage carrier only (no sissy bar).

Does anyone have a part # and possibly an approx price for the carrier? I've found 2 different #'s but can't find a price and don't know if this is exactly what I want.

Ya!!!!!! TOO much money ... went to ace hardware got a piece of 1-1/2
alum. angle iron and made my own  also made mounts for my viking hard trunk to fit right behind my for long trips so I can lean on it as a back rest. took it on a trip to Iowa worked great, and for full cross country trips I can still mount the rear carrier I made for even more carry capacity,
anything can be made just took alittle time and thought

I just picked up the rear carrier for $124.  its still kinda high but it's more palatable than what everyone else is asking.

I just talked with Viking and they said they're going to make saddlebags for the new Valk.  cooldude
I gave him my email and he said he would keep me posted. This is good news as I like the way they construct the bags, and hopefully won't be long until there available. Man I hope that wasn't the janitor I was talking to. Grin

That would be good and interesting to see how they devise the bracket.    cooldude

I just looked at them, and I like the Viking Lamellar Slanted Painted Motorcycle Hard Saddlebags.  I am just not sure how they would look on the Valk.  The price certainly is right.  Does anyone know the quality of the bags?  Are they made of thick material, or flimsy crap.

Can't speak to the quality of the hard bags, but my bike came with a set of bags intended for the 1500 Valkyrie and I am not really impressed with their warranty. My lids are seperating or tearing at the hinge and they do not consider that a warranty issue per their site.
