Dear friends

Is there any trick to get that plastic rivet loose? (I'm speaking of the 'trim clip' on Honda Manual page 2-5, that keeps the right side steering side cover in place).

Most of those plastic rivets got loose if you press its center with a screwdriver (at least that has being my experience while working in a Suzuki Vstrom).

*But* this one won't get loose and I don't want to pull it by force and ruining it (or cracking the side cover). Any ideas?

The OEM fasteners unscrew with a Phillips screwdriver.  The centre part screws out some, then the outer edge can be pried away.

The fastener is more like a wall anchor in that the screw part will expand a small plastic sleeve. It is in a sense two separate pieces. When I tried to remove mine it was in every sense 2 pieces (broken). You can get these at a local auto parts store. Look in the interior parts section of the store. Won't be exactly the same but work and fit just fine.
