I have a 98 tourer and want to change out the petcock with a pingle valve. Anyone have a part number or model number of the correct valve I need?  Wink

Many get the Pingel model 1311-CH (non-vacuum) petcock. You can save if you get it on Amazon instead of Pingel online.

Should bolt right up, and just plug up the vacuum right? Do u use and tread tape or is there a gasket included?

Oh, and be sure to get the OEM screen out of the gas tank bung hole. It tends to stick in there when you remove the OEM petcock and the Pingel won't go in there until the OEM screen is out. You'll also have less reserve mileage with the Pingel. Some have modified it to give greater reserve mileage. Another choice is a Golan petcock. IIRC it gives greater reserve mileage and is less expensive. Maybe someone else can chime in on this.

I put a non vacuum Pingel on MGM several moons ago.

Then I also added a Dan Marc electric shutoff.

They both work well together.

Make sure there isn't any downhill in the line and then a slight uplift.

If it does you can and will have a fuel problem.

Also added a extra button that has to be pushed to activate the Dan Marc.

I used the wiring configuration like MarkT published here.

If ya no push the button, ya no get no fuel.

There are a number of different Pingle valves. Its been so long I don't remember the numbers, but, you may want to look. When I installed mine I think there was only one most/some of us were using at the time and the valve position is kinda backwards. Its counter-intuitive, but, becomes normal over the years.

I think we all used the same valve way back then. Maybe it was the only valve they had at the time, I don't know. I was always able to feel the handle easily, and, actually still can.  It takes awhile to get used to the handle being worked 'backwards' though doesn't it. As far as I'm concerned it was a good change.
Its not a matter of 'if' the OEM valve will fail, but, 'when'.

You mentioned where the old vacuum line goes to.  I just bought a rubber "condom" made for plugging lines. Just slide that baby on!!!

I've put 1311-CH on 2 of mine. The fuel line really needs to be stretched to slide over the nipple. I made extensions. Are you guys just stretching the line?

The Pingle is 5/16" and the Valk if I remember correctly is 8MM.

OH, OK.  I don't have that problem. I shorten the line cuz I add a filter.
