If I loosen the two screws on the throttle assembly is anything going to bounce or fall out?

It is hard to get enough slack to take the cable ends out of the
throttle assembly. One solution is to loosen the riser cap
and slide the bars to the left. The bars tend to slip down
when you loosen the cap, they could swoop down and dent
your tank while you're focusing on loosening the last riser
cap bolt... be careful on that front...

Definitly cover your tank.Wrap a piece of masking tape around the left side of the bar at the riser.mark the seam on the cap.Now you can slide the bars over service your throttle and put right back where it was before.

Watch out for leaking brake fluid.

Also, there is dimple in the bar that lines up with the seam where the cap and riser come together. Likewise, there is a dimple on the bar where the seam on the brake mounting mechanism should line up.
