Why would anyone shave a cow like that?

Up north in Minnesota!

We are hanging out today at TP and Nancy's place near Minneapolis, Minnesota.  We rode in about 11:00 last night from close to the Canadian border.  We are enjoying fellowship and hospitality that is second to none and TP and Laserpat are outside changing Laserpat's shock bushings.  My clothes are washing downstairs and I can never thank this couple enough for the hospitality that they have shown this cajun boy.  cooldude cooldude

I mean, nobody that rode in from out of state has stayed at a hotel near Minneapolis nor left hungry.  We may talk about southern hospitality - but I have to be honest, it doesn't hold a candle to what we have been shown here in Minnesota.  This couple has gone WAY out of their way to take in some old bike gypsies and show them a very, very large time!

I mean, Laserpat put Texas Deb on a plane this morning (since he is being a vagabond and doesn't know which way he is going to be pointing his bike when he leaves).  There is still me and him sitting outside with the TP family and telling a lie or two.  On the way up, we had 5 Texans and 1 Cajun all put up (and put up with) at the Casa de TP (me, Hotglue and Flamingo Babe, Godfire and Laserpat and Texas Deb).  You want to talk about NORTHERN hospitality.

Anyway, this was not really a "ride in" - more of a Minnesota RIDE!  Shoot, we have done well over 1000 miles since we left TP's Friday.  TP marked a map of the roads we took and we covered a huge chunk of Minnesota.  We put in 643 miles since we LEFT the ride in!  We have seen sights that you wouldn't believe, did things we have never done before  and eaten some awesome food while enjoying fellowship that is second to none.

I mean, you have done things we HAVE NEVER DONE BEFORE!

Alpine Slide Lutsen, MN (External Embedding Disabled)

You just normally see bikers at places like where we went yesterday!

Sights have been phenominal!

The main thing is the fellowship.  Like I have always said, it ain't about the ride, it's about the people.  And a better bunch, you just ain't going to find.  Like I said, TP, Nancy and the folks from Minnesota have gone way out of their way to make sure that we passed a VERY LARGE TIME!

Laserpat has put in so many miles, we can't get his arms to resume a normal position.

Well, a full ride report is forthcoming, I just wanted to thank TP and Nancy for showing us a GREAT TIME!

Minnesota ROCKS!!!!!!!

Just be careful if you come to Minnesota - they DO HAVE RULES!

Well, starting tomorrow, it's back on the road - heading to Ranger's BBQ!!!!  This has been a WHOOOOO-HOOOO time!!!!

FULL RIDE REPORT when I get some time - TP and Nancy have filled our days with a LARGE TIME!!!!!

Yes sir and ma'am, I just told TP that he and Nancy have reached the point of hospitality that you can never recipricate.....And I meant it.  How do you thank them and the boys for putting us up and putting up with us like they have done.

Tomorrow, TP is taking me along the Mississippi River - ahead of what I did at the headwaters - and man, AM I READY TO FOLLOW HIM AGAIN!  HECK, LET'S GO!

Fine, fine people.....(JUST Don't get no better).

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Seriously, we are passing a very large time up here!

Sounds like you guys had a most excellent ride......sure wish we could have stuck around and done the tour with you.  Looks like TP took you to all the fun places!  I just rode past his house on the way home thinking I might see your bike there..was going to stop in.  Well.........I hope he took you to Split Rock Lighthouse, cause this is the print I'll be sending to you.  This was taken May (2007) at around 5:30 AM.  One of the most spectacular sunrises I've photographed.  Every 20 seconds the colors were changing.  I have so many shots it is rediculous but this is one of my favorites.  The next was taken a year later in October for the "Harvest Moon".  That was a great evening as well.  Lori & I had a large time as well hanging out with you, Hotglue, Flamingobabe, and Pibit.  Say hi to TR for us.  If time allowed, I'd ride down there with you.  OK, on with the pics!

And one more for the heck of it:
