I'm replacing the seat release cable. I've removed the lock ass. and bracket from the center cover and unbolted the latch from the bike but the cable will not come out. Is there another bracket on the upper end of the cable that I can't see. I've replace one of these before but my memory isn't what it use to be.

No, but there is a anchor point in the top front that the cable clips to. Remove the battery and use a flash light to see it.
Good luck

Last cable I replace I put the key cable end under my left side cover on top of the coolant tank. Very easy to find and not a worry as to breaking off a key.
