OK....I need more Moly 60 for spline lube on my 3 bikes. I can't seem to find any locally nor at any dealers. So what is everybody using in place of the now scarce Moly 60??

I use any good quality hi-temp wheel bearing grease.

It's the assembly order that counts...

Just look at the content of greases available at any parts store. There are plenty out there with high moly content, I haven't used Honda moly in years, just a good extreme pressure grease with some moly content. As Daniel said, a good wheel bearing grease works fine.

Other moly pastes out there that Valkyrie owners have used are:

T.S Moly Lubricants Inc.
TS-70 Moly Paste
http://www.tsmoly.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?search_in_description=1&keywords=ts70

Guard Dog Moly Lubricants
GD-525 Moly Grease
https://guarddogmoly.com/product/gd-525-moly-grease-synthetic/
GD-570 Moly Paste
https://guarddogmoly.com/product/gd-570-moly-paste-antiseize/

Loctite (Henkel)
Loctite Moly Paste
http://www.henkelna.com/product-search-1554.htm?nodeid=8797877698561

I have used the Honda Moly 60 many times to good effect, but last time I used the Loctite stuff.  I haven't pulled my wheel since so I can't tell you how it fared.  It was a fair bit thicker, however, than the Honda stuff.

I like the wheel bearing grease because it sticks so well.

I use TS-70.
something different but very $$$

An alternative to moly is the new poly-flourinated lubricants made by DuPont called Krytox Teflon Bearing Grease.

Beemer dealers sell a tube of German moly that they use in house.  This is the industrial sized tube, about 1.5" diameter x maybe 10" length, intended for a grease gun.  I bought one a couple years ago, for $35.  Price has prolly gone up, but I don't think I'll outlive my moly supply... Grin

Honda M-77 is the preferred replacement for the now discontinued Moly 60.

I just saw your reply  about costs. I was going to buy moly paste at a Honda dealer in Canada for 23$ [I think] I asked him about a tube of moly based grease used for fifth wheels on trucks .he said probably do just as good to be honest about it.. it looks  thick black and very tacky so I tried it for I think it was  5 bucks a large grease gun tube from TSC store [ farm products store ]  Honda dealer size  was smaller for a mini grease gun =hope I did right ==take care  ride safe west

years ago I checked a few 5th wheel greases, all had a lower than 60% of moly.

and a 5th wheel has an easy wear movement compared to drive splines. The honda engineers spec'd the right % moly paste.

We also just discussed this here,

http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,78068.msg764704.html#msg764704

Might want to read it over also.

I have one of those little tubes of Honda 60%, but haven't done the rear yet. Will do on my next service in 7K miles, along with taking the u-joint out and look things over.
