Just installed my new Rattlebars heel shifter ( well, new to me anyway). Everything on the bike is Kury ISO including the shifter peg. I had to remove the peg to get the front channel on the heel shifter into place and then reinstall the shifter peg. The shifter peg body is too large to go in the actual channel. I tightened it up as much as possible , but of course if I tighten it too much it binds.
Rattlebars instructions sheet says the shifter is "known to work with" the ISO peg. I don't like how it feels and I don't like how the channel is not actually on the peg body.
So, for those of you running this little slice of heaven, what shifter peg do you use?
Do I need to put a bushing in between the peg body and the shifter arm for the channel to ride on? or just put the original shifter peg back on the shifter lever?
Please advise Thanks Chris

what i done in that situation was go to lowes and buy a round plastic bushing. in the specialty bins. grind the edges down to where it would fit in the slot. then install it between the shifter peg and the shifter arm. works like a charm.

Kunkies, yep......I have both of those. The longhorn was already in place as my shifter peg. The short one came with the Rattlebars. The diameter on both is too large to go in the channel that goes arounder the shifter peg. Are you using one of these with your Rattlebars shifter? Thanks Chris

I'm wondering if you could use the longhorn peg and cut the first (hopefully not the second) rubber off and make it work smoothly (if the diameter of the peg without rubber will fit through the hole). You really don't want any constant contact between the shift peg and the forward Rattlebar shifter cutout.

http://bigbf.com/bigbf_shop/shift_peg/BigBF shows how to put a bushing between the peg and the shifter arm so a larger diameter Kury peg camn be used with the slot in the Kickshifter that is designed for the smaller diameter stock peg.

I've had no luck running down that high walled washer / spacer that BigBF has depicted. I contacted him today and he is digging one up for me. So, I'll wait til I have the recommended parts that have been sorted out by folks much more mechanically inclined than myself. Patience is hard to come by where new toys are concerned.

It has been too many moons ago to remember correctly.
I think I got a peg for a stock Harley from J&P Cycle and used it.

You can just order the stock shifter peg from a site with the fiche; I finally replaced my original because it was too worn to fit right. Of I recall, the Kickshifter was designed to be used with the OEM peg. A bit of a pain getting the new one on, but it is a marked improvement for cheap money.
