I read through a few of these exhaust Mod threads and y'all seem to have the same style of exhaust where mine is different.

Just want to make it louder for now, so where would you begin with pipes like these?

Those appear to be stock pipes, and are getting sorta scarce. I would go with Cobra or a set from one of the guys who make pipes, and not alter the stockers. MarkT makes pipes that many on the board use. Not many aftermarket companys are making Valk stuff any more. Ebay, or the for sale stuff on this site is about the only resource I know of cooldude

Like Michvalk said...I wouldn't molest a clean set of stock pipes...check out ebay and find a set of used pipes if you want to go modifying them.

With that said...I modified my pipes with glass packs and truck stacks.  Definitely not the as quiet as the stock pipes...but not obnoxiously loud either.  Check out the video clip for the sound...

I used the instructions on ShopTalk (link on top of this page), adjusted them a little to suit my desires and had a muffler shop make mine.  They cut the mufflers off a few inches from the collectors and welded in a reducer.  They then welded a half-coupling to a 24" glass pack (2" inlet/outlet).  Since I wanted the end of the glass packs near the end of the truck stacks, I inserted a nipple between the reducer and the glass packs.  I think I got the sound I was looking for...nice mellow, not too loud, but louder than stock sound.

I would not modify those stock pipes.  There are plenty of pipes out there that have already been modified and hated them.  As stated the ones you have are hard to find.  New they are $1500.00.  Place an ad on this site, you will locate a pair to modify or a different style that will be loud.

Sent ya an email, Not sure what I'm going to do as of yet to be completely honest. I like the stack idea, but then it's removing a set of piggies and figuring out how far to take it before I go to far.
