Installed a new car tire on my Valk, it's a Douglas Xtra-trac II   205/55R16 , got it at Walmart $59.99, bike rides like a  Cadillac now and handles great , love it! Had it installed at a Honda Dealer for $24.99
Running 35psi so far , 45,000 mile tread life .will post a pic later.

The only problem with a $60 tire is that it's a $60 tire.  We have only two tires on the road and I'd just as soon have two decent ones.  Tires are not the place to scrimp...

The biggest problem with a $60 tire is it is typically rated for 110 mph. Of course I am legally blind in one eye and have marginal vision in the other and rarely exceed 45 mph, so in my case a cheap station wagon tire is fine.

+1 on what BobB said, heck I didnt even want the E3
but its what was handy when I got multiple holes in my Bridgestone Exedra 200

SPOFF  between us both we almost have 2 good eyes lol

but it dont stop us from getting in the wind

Maybe the OP will stay lucky if he checks his air before every ride like I do

You can never be too careful when it comes to tires IMHO

Kind of a conflicting post here isn't it. I am not saying DARKSIDE is bad but read where so many go dark is to get cheaper tires.

I won't deny that price was a consideration when I bought my Ohtsu. The biggest consideration tho was the traction.

I did the research and found that the Ohtsu is the same tire as the Falken that everyone liked so much on the forums here. I paid $75 at my local Discount Tire. I'm enjoying the ride.

Not conflicting at all...  I was happy to pay $154 for the Austone rather than $220+ for the Avon Cobras which I was running, also knowing I will get many more miles out of the ATT.  That is good enough.  When used on a motorcycle, the ATT is highly rated, while the reviews on the Douglas suck.

I have experienced two high speed rear blowouts on a H-D which did not behave well.  Through skill or luck I was able to keep the bike upright and on my side of the road.  I do not know how the Valk will behave, but I do not want to find out through personal experience.  A trip to the hospital will offset the cost of all the tires you will ever put on your motorcycles...

SPOFF, how the he11 does one keep a Valk below 45 MPH?   Grin
