I am ready to ride! Haven't had a day off since InZane. Before that, it was GOTF. Hmmm, I think I detect a pattern...

We probably ought to refresh the headcount for planning purposes. Count me as one attendee.

We also ought to start thinking about Friday dinner. We've had good luck the last couple of years at Buffalo Nickel. Alamo Springs Cafe is good, too, and you can combine that with watching the bats fly. Of course, there's also German. Thoughts?

Lots of great riding, the Harvest Classic in Luckenbach, the Museum of the War in the Pacific.

So many options. So little time.

Can't wait!

Dave, You bring up some good points. I almost forgot about the Bat viewing. I think we did that on Friday night before dinner, ??

So I'm going to lead a ride or two. Here's my plan;

I'm arriving Thursday night.

Friday: Riding the 3 sisters all day, I'll lead if anyone is there to follow (this will be a "spirited ride". will be taking off after breakfast, probably between 8:30 and 9:00. return will be late afternoon, hopefully in time to go watch the bats fly (if that's on Friday night)

Saturday: Ride by E-rock (965 is a fun ride), then take the Willow City loop (north to south) then grab some lunch and head out to the Harvest Classic in Luckenbach.

So the things that I'm not sure of, who (if anybody) is coordinating the Saturday BBQ?  or if we should just do two different restaurants,  I would be good with ether. if we need a backup place to eat I've enjoyed eating (and drinking beer) at the "Fredericksburg Brewing Company". The Buffalo Nickel is also great.

Historically, we have gone out for dinner on Friday, and done the cookout on Saturday.  With the assumption that that's what everyone wants to do again (object if that's not the case, either here or via PM), here is my concept:
One group can go somewhere in town (I would propose the Buffalo Nickel, they've treated us well in the past), and another group can go watch the bats.  Choose your own destination, but it would be good to get a head count to tell both restaurants.  Splitting up will serve to lessen the load on both locations, as that has been a problem for us in the past.  The response I typically get is "you want to bring HOW MANY PEOPLE???"  Both places (Buffalo Nickel and the place near the bats) are great, but our headcount tends to strain their capacity, and causes service delays.

As for Saturday, if anyone will have a cage there, and able to haul groceries, please let me know.    We'll work it out.

Mark, Sorry, had an aging moment on the BBQ coordination  uglystupid2

like I said above I'll lead a short ride with Luckenbach as the mid day destination Saturday. and if there is anything you need help with, let me know and I'll do what I can.

I like the idea of breaking up into two groups, last year the Buffalo Nickel was good, but like you said I think we frazzled them with the number of people. And if I remember we were riding hard in the dark to get back from the Bat  watching to go to dinner. So having the Bat watchers eat closer to the state park is a good idea.
