Rita gets real antzy from being stuck in the house all the time. But, every once in a while she feels good enough to do more than go to the library or supermarket. Today, we did as we have done in the past....drove over to Boondocks for a late lunch. She loves being near the water and can't go to the beach any more so this is the next best thing. Really irritated myself because I missed my turn off on 19 right after getting off the turnpike. Killed about 30 minutes and finally figured out what I'd done. Got to Boondocks about 2:45 but I was still PO'd at myself.  Angry

They weren't very busy and we had good service. Seems the waitress noticed Rita's troubles walking and lack of ability to speak very loud. So, she catered to her like a favorite grandmother, was really kinda neat. Had a nice lunch and headed back, soon as she hit the door it was CRASH time.  Wink  That's OK, at least she was able to get out for a bit and enjoy the outdoors, something she really misses.

I'm sure it was much needed for you as well to get out.   The waitress must be a nice person in general and how nice you two got to meet her.

Me too. We both had a combo basket with some huge shrimp and some fish with a bunch of fritters buried in the bottom. Had to chuckle a bit....at first Rita only wanted water, but when the basket came she decided she wanted a beer. A Mic Lite draft was soon on the table and she savored every sip, I even stole a couple myself....just to help out you understand.  Wink I asked the waitress to not fill the glass to the top since she has trouble holding the glass and has to use two hands to lift it. It must have worked for her, we weren't on the road more than ten minutes and she was snoozing.  Grin

Sounds like you two had a much needed and well deserved pleasant meal and afternoon out. A good and attentive Waitress is worth her weight in gold.

Happy for you John,  We have to cherish all the moments in life while we can.  Hopefully you will have many more to cherish.
