Has anyone else noticed a 'chirping' sound from the front end area when riding over bumps?  I had this the last few years on my '98 Tourer- but figured it was because it was old.  Now I'm wondering if it's just a Valkyrie thing? Smiley

It doesn't do it all the time but I notice it quite a bit.  Is is the front fork?  Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

The solid lifters then drown out the exhaust.......

Aside from that, no noise.  Other than the Valkyrie's built in audible shift indicator mines pretty quiet.  No squeeking, chirping, grinding etc I've ever noticed.

Would you say chirping or squeaking?

I've notice, as can happen on any bike, the front brake lines can sometimes rub against the guides and at low speeds, I hear that friction come out as a squeaking noise.

Over a bump though... After a trip down to FL, riding through rain and everything else, I did have a slight squeaking noise over some bumps but all was solved when a good wash was done.

Could just be salt/dirt in the suspension somewhere. Give her a good wash inside/out!

Another question... has it done this since day 1 or has it developed?

I'd say more of a 'chirping'- but I guess a short 'squeak' might describe it as well.

I've bought my '14 about 5 weeks ago...and only noticed the 'chirp' a couple of weeks ago.  It doesn't happen constantly, but it isn't rare either.  Like I said, my '98 Valk was doing it the last few years with about the same regularity (I attributed it to age).

I'll try the wash!  I'm getting the Corbin bags installed on Monday- so maybe after that.  Thanks for the input...

Audible shift indicator?  I have not noticed that feature.  What year and model do you have?

Thanks,

If BOTH bikes are/were doing it, sounds like something you are wearing while riding!

Bought mine 17th of July and I've noticed similar noises but then I'm getting used to all the new sounds compared to my previous 2014 CTX700.  Since I've got full warranty and it will be in the shop within another week for it's 600 mile service I've been listening but not getting worried about it till I take it in.  I can't see any rubbing or other visible issues and I can only hear it at low speeds.  At 35+ all i can hear is the engine and that 1800cc Gold Wing high pitch gear whine that to me sounds almost like a damn super charger.

I would take a few minuets to make sure that all the fasteners are snug, like the fender bolts, caliper stuff, rotors, and anything else in the general area. Won't take nuthin' but time cooldude
