That was interesting. Could of used one of those last October! 2 month old (New) tire on the front of my bike then picked up a roofing nail. Said a few choice words  then bought another new tire. Scoop171 |

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. 27 miles on my wife's new Honda Shadow Spirit, and I hit a piece of scrap metal. $253 later, I have a new tire. BTW, the machine now has 184 miles on the odometer, and is for sale. Includes Crash Bars, Quick-release Windshield, and a transferable 5 year, unlimited mileage Extended Warranty. Asking $9000. Don't faint, Jerry. There is now a 1995 Gold Wing 20th Anniversary Lehman TRIKE with 52,000 miles sitting in the garage. Yep. my 3rd Honda in 5 months.  |

If it really works as it appears, Goodyear or some other tire company has already bought the patent and it will be like the Coca Cola formula. Locked up in a safe somewhere in their headquarters.
Same thing that happened to the car that the someone built that would drive from Fl. to Washington D.C. on a quart of gas. Someone bought the patent and the guy now lives on an island in the Caribbean with a pile of money.
I'm not saying it isn't true, the video sure looks real. But it does seem like I had seen it before maybe a year or so ago.

That technology is nothing new, in the 60's BF Goodrich sold a line of tires called Lifesaver. They had a coating applied to the inside of the tire that would seal any nail hole up to 1/4 in in dia. If it ever failed they would replace the tire. I worked for them then, only tire I have ever seen that carried a full replacement warranty as long as tread was visible on the tire. Goodyear has some thing similar since the 70,s but it never made it to the open market, mainly used in off-road equipment, and police and military equipment. I attended a demo years ago, where the opened up a 30 cal machine gun on a front tire on an armored vehicle, blew the rim and hub to hell, but the tire was still supporting the vehicle.

Bought a 78 gl100 in 81 drove it till 2005 when I sold it. Had the same tires on it the whole time. Rarely checked the air. They felt like solid rubber. Did buy a replacement front tire but never put it on. Gave it to the guy I sold the bike to. Admittedly drove the bike a few miles a year. Just short trips, no long mileage rides so didn't rack up 100,000 miles on it . But they were on almost 25 yrs. Got just 8000 on VTX.

That stuff has been out for years ( 6-7 yrs ) and it cost more then the tire....
