I just added a Bravia HD Bluetooth speaker to my Valkyrie. It's so nice to listen to tunes while cruising.
I made the bracket out of a 1/8" thick, 3/4" wide anodized Aluminum piece I got from Home Depot.
I also added the clutch perch mounted Tech Connect holder from Kuryakyn, along with the USB power point.
Haven't run power to the speaker yet, but it supposedly gets 28 hours per charge.

I wish I could listen to tunes while riding but it influences the throttle in a bad way, especially if some of the R&R heavy hitting tunes come on!

Tunes are always great to have on rides.

I hope that the speakers are waterproof or you will be replacing them prematurely.

I bought the shark 250W system with handlebar mounted speakers.  They are made for a bike and fully waterproof.

Yep, IPX3 waterproof rating.
I saw the Shark speakers on the Internet and read mixed reviews. How is the system working for you?

It works great, but I should have gotten the upgraded speakers.  These one's crackle a bit when you get to 3/4 volume.  I can hear it pretty good up to about 60mph.  After that the wind is too loud anyways.

Looking to install Boss Audio MC500.
- Wondering where to place the Amplifier? I was thinking of keeping it in the toolbox, but then not sure if FM tuner would work or not.
- Should i draw power directly from the battery? If so is it going to drain the battery.
Or Is there any accessary power outlet which cut the power when the ignition is off?

- "bscrive"/ "Dark Knight": Do you folks run the cable under the Gas Tank? I didn't see any cables on yours(pictures posted by yours)?

Appreciate your help!

I do see a 2 pin connector (may be its a Motorcycle's 2 pin water proof connector) under the rider seat close to the Gas Tank inside wall.

As explained in this instruction step 5 and 6... But i don't have the accessory harness mentioned in step 2. All i have is a Black and Red wire from Boss MC500.

[edit]  Sorry, saw your post with more info.  That Tech Connect is a nice mount!

I've been using a Bluetooth headset for the past 6 years now.  I have a Garmin StreetPilot 2820 with XM antenna on the left handlebar and a Bracketron mount for an 'iPod' on the right handlebar; with my cell phone in the saddlebag I both make & receive calls with address book & dialpad access, get live traffic feedback and auto-routing around blockages, voice GPS prompts, MP3 and XM radio music.

BTW, a secret trick: Bluetooth-streamed MP3's can have their expected playback auto volume altered to account for requirements or personal taste.  I'm using MediaMonkey and, in the Sync settings for each individual device, you can change the target volume.  The default Bluetooth playback volume is 86dB - since I'm / we're in noisy envirnonments, I set mine to 91dB.  Voila!  Louder stereo.

I used the auxiliary wires that are located under the seat that are attached to the plastic wall.  Works great, and it is switched power.  So, you don't have to worry about running your battery down.

I have discussed the idea of using cell phones as GPS and media devices with others.  They only work when you have cellulat reception - I guess I travel a LOT more than those people  Wink  And that's why I figured that I can't upgrade to the new Zumo 590.  That, and for most of them you can't reprogram on the fly because their touchscreens do not work with biker's gloves.

I haven't connected the power wire to the bike battery yet. The Braven speaker has a 25-hour life. When it gets below half power, I just charge it with the plug in my wall outlet with the power plug.
Eventually I want to connect it to that switched power plug under the seat. I want to buy a separate power cable for this, but I haven't found that cable yet.

Hum...i think we both are referring to the same auxilary wires...i think.
Under the seat on a plastic wall  towards the front of the bike(gas tank), green and Green/Black wires?

Nice! I am going to try connecting it tomorrow. Will post picture after the install.

I bought a terminal end at cycleterminal.com or quality cycleparts.com, I forget and unfortunately I don't have the part number, I simply found the right terminal end end by sight. They will send you the plastic plug with 2 correct metal ends to crimp on your home made harness. I hate cutting into a perfect harness. Mine is connected to a handlebar 12v receptacle with 2 usb connections.

I just connected my Bluetooth speaker to the 12-volt switched accessory power under the seat. The plug is connected to the bike with a plastic push plug. There is a little tab between the plug and the plastic wall it's connected to that you can push with a small flat blade screwdriver to slide the plug off the mount. The tab is on the clutch side, then you slide the plug towards the throttle side. I didn't see this until after I yanked the plastic mount off the plastic wall.
The bottom blade is the positive, the top blade is the ground.
The blades are recessed pretty far in the plug. I had to remove an internal plastic piece to see and connect to the blades. I definitely had to remove the plug from the plastic wall in order to properly insert the terminals plugs. The blades are 3-mm, or .110-inches. I bought the terminal tabs with the below package.

FYI, it's MUCH easier to access and connect to the fog light switched power plug. It is located behind the fuel cap unlock panel where you use your key to open the gas cap.
If you are not planning on adding the fog lights anytime soon, I recommend this route.
You really need to use the red and black plastic insulators shown in my last post if you go this direction to make sure the terminals don't touch at any point in the future.
