Angry  I ran over a steel staple and its in the rear tire. loosing air, a pound per day. question is, Can you patch these from the inside as the staple is small or is my tire trash??  tickedoff Also someone placed pics on how to raise the bike and remove tire without pulling the fender. I can't find them, any help will be appreciated uglystupid2

I've patched motorcycle tires before with no problems. It depends on where the puncture is on the tire.  In the tread shouldn't be a problem -- in the sidewall and you'll need a new tire.  That's what I'd do and keep an eye on it to make sure it's not leaking.  If patching it is gonna worry you every time you ride it, then go ahead and replace it.

You'll have to patch it yourself...bike shops will not for liability reasons..

that has been my experience anyway..

Wink Thanks for the help. I ordered a new Shinko tire to feel safe. I wonder if these Dunlop's are prone to road hazards because they are cheap and thin? I have never had this happen in 40 years of riding but I did get home and that is a blessing!!! Roll Eyes

The first tire I ever put RideOn in was a new Avon that
I picked up a small tack or nail (it barely went through) in.

I had to rotate it while spraying it with soapy water more than
once before I found the hole.

After I put the RideOn in it, I kept the tire on until it
was worn out.

I use rideon and it works well. first tire I put it in I took a nail, pulled it out and didn't lose a pound of air.

and bike shops will patch tires if the hole is in the tread area not sidewall.

also I used this lift from harbor freight, they have a coupon that you can get it for $329. However the wheel chock on it sucks, I replaced it with this one.
