If a Valk receives regular maintenance,  it will run forever.

When we hear of someone acquiring a Valkyrie, we always recommend they check the final drive since even the majority of Honda dealers don't do the work properly.  It's not hard to do, but it does have to be done properly.

The previous owner may have had all service done at a dealer or may never have had the rear drive serviced.    Either way, once the rear drive parts are back in proper order and lubed correctly, you will be in for many years of smiles on your Valkyrie.

Welcome to the group.

Sorry for your trouble but now you got a great bike.I rode my 2000 Interstate to work today 187,000 miles on it still going strong. Only quit on me twice alt, died while on a trip and I stripped the coupler once. Take care of it and it'll take care of you.
