Gilligan and Navigator - Wherever we ended up

Southwest Indiana

« on: September 04, 2009, 02:29:02 PM »

Hugh was the left-handed, lead guitar player in our rock band, The Blue Shades, at Maryville College from 9/64 to 6/66.  I was the drummer.  Here we are in 1966.  Hugh is on the left.

He became a veterinarian and is in Sweetwater, TN.  I went with him one afternoon, and he educated this city-boy big time.  He has over 1,600 clients.  I watched him treat horses, calves and bulls.  I held the IV bottles for him, while standing in manure.  I had worked in an emergency room, so the sights were not shocking.  What was shocking was how hard it is to "catch" your "patients" and keep them "still ."  Also, the environment was not sterile, as it was in the ER.  I have a new-found respect for large animal vets.

Here is what we look like after not seeing each other for 43 years.

Not bad for a couple of old "rockers."

Sweetwater is just west of Tellico Plains which is the jumping off point for the Cherahola Skyway, a real sweet ride even in a car I suspect.  Hope you got to enjoy it on the Prius.

You are just an hour or so south of Smokin Joe also

Old rockers still rule !
