Was looking things over on the I/S yesterday, noticed a chunk of plastic was missing from the RH side where the speaker cover interfaces.   Not real noticeable until you get in the right spot.  I guess years and vibration has taken its toll.

Has anyone had the instrument cluster (visor assembly) bezel off?   I am ordering a replacement while they are still available.  Looks like a PIA to change..

I haven't changed THAT part out but I will make a suggestion. After removing speaker pods remove the chrome W/S strip remove W/S-4 bolts-loosen he fairing bolts and roll the fairing forward holding the fairing in place with tarp straps or a 1 inch ratchet strap. Let me know please HOW large a P I A this procedure turns out to be just in case. And good wrenchin!  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

I had mine apart several years ago. I don't remember it being  a problem, other having to pull the whole fairing apart to get to it. cooldude

I had to do that a few times over the years on mine. Have to remove the speakers to get to the bezel/cluster, disconnect the wire harness and it's free. When you remove the bezel from the cluster, don't lose your tripomiter reset button. It's also a good time to change out the bulbs in the cluster.

I damaged my faiing shortly after getting the bike this spring.  Ramoval of the entire fairing and instrument cluster took about 20 min and I had never done it before.  Really not a big deal.

Good to know!!   I probably won't get it changed before I head out this next weekend..

Hopefully it won't rattle off the bike!!

Have some JB Weld or other epoxy type repair handy as you will likely have to force a brass insert or two out of the plastic while removing the speaker pods and chrome/plastic strip. Many of us have had to cement the brass thingies back in.

I don't mind removing my fairing, it's a piece of cake.  The tank....that's another story.   Angry
