Have done this a dozen times but today is another day. Trying to service the final drive and thought I would pull the u-joint to check it out. I can't get it out of the swing arm. I've raised and lowered the arm, can spin the joint with a wire but it refuses to move down the tube. I can remove it from the output shaft but that's as far as it goes.

I'm tempted to grease the spline and put it back together but now WHY won't it come out has me curious.

Any ideas ?

Remember....the driveshaft has to be removed first before you can remove the u-joint without pulling the swingarm. Here's a link to Chet's original post on how to do it.

When you go to reinstall that boot, the swingarm has to be about as high as you can get it. The space above it is so limited you can't get the boot on with it hanging down.

Putting the boot back on is no harder than putting on a condom in a 10K foot free fall.  2funny tickedoff
