As of August 22 I have officially joined the ranks of the unemployed! Sold the business, closed on the CT home, and am temporarily staying with our son's family in CT watching the grandkids until Labor Day.

We will be down in FL full time after that. I have done my best to "reduce the herd" when it comes to motorized "Stuff". The Indian and the Fat Lady will both be down in Florida with us. I'm looking forward to a much less "Complicated" life without need for frequent trips north to keep the business running.

Pappy, I'll be asking you and some of the others for help/advice getting a boat to keep on the St. John river. For the intended uses, it's pretty much down to either a Deck Boat, or the ubiquitous Pontoon variety. Not sure yet, but certainly I don't want to pay for all that depreciation, and so will be buying a better "used" version.

Anyways, I'll be showing my smiling face around more often than in the past, and am looking forward to it!  The rest of you may be cringing at the thought though.   cooldude  Roll Eyes Cheesy

Well it's about time!  cooldude  Good for you Pete, and you'll soon come to the realization where you wonder how you ever had the time to go to work. It's a great life if you can weaken enough to enjoy it. You'll be returning to Florida about the time it starts to cool somewhat. By the end of Sept. it really is getting nice for riding....in spite of what Eddie says(Tropic Traveler).  Grin

Yup, I'm going to have to work at the "relaxing" part, but I'll grow into it. As for the hot weather, it's been hot and muggy up here as well. Plus last week, I rode the Indian down to Charleston, sc and left it at my younger son's home. It will be easier for me to ride it to FL from here.

See you soon!    cooldude

Congrats Pete.  See that wasn't so tough was it?  Good luck on the adjustment.  Hope to see you on a lunch ride.  We have been pretty wimpy of late ourselves and just don't like to ride in Eddie's kind of weather.

Let me know what your time frame is on the Pontoon.
Pontoons in good used condition around the shop sell in as little as one day usually !!
There are normally 2-3 people in line in case the first buyer bows out.
Once you are down here let me know and we will take it from there.

You will enjoy your retirement Pete.  You have all the right things planned.  I have been enjoying mine for 19 years now and don't regret a moment.
