Gas Tank Overflow Drain Tube, Tee?

I did my due diligence and did a search in the tech forum for this but wasn't having much luck so I will make a new post.
I pulled the gas tank today, and in doing so forgot to disconnect the overflow drain tube from the bottom of the tank and inadvertently took the tube out with the tank.
The overflow tube however is split in two with a plastic Tee connection in the middle. I poured over the area of the bike where the tee would sit and for the life of me cannot find what should be connecting to it.
Please respond if you know what is supposed to tie into this drain line. Thank you.

I pulled the trigger to quickly on this topic, and have the answer. The answer is...
...nothing. Nothing ties into the connection.

Yes, nothing. It is an...for lack of technical term, an air "break". The end of the hose extends down below the bike. While riding in the rain, if there wasn't that break in the hose, it could possibly suck water up to the tank. Leave the T in place.

I took my tank off so many times for adding electrical lines along the frame, I got tired of one more hose to fuss with and be sure it wasn't kinked. Yep that happened more than once. So I removed it. Haven't seen anything negative from that yet and that was years ago. Of course I never fill it to the top without riding right away.
