I just slapped on a new exhaust,  but forgot to do something and now I have to pull it back off.

I used the blue goldwing gaskets. I've tightened them once. I put a total of 300 km on the pipes.

These are not copper gaskets. Do I need to replace them, or can I just leave them in there and put the pipes back on?

Sure, they can be reused as many times you want.  If you get exhaust leaks however, you will know why

Well, now I'm wondering. I don't know Gold Wings.

I'm wondering if the Viking exhaust gaskets [ blue/green fiber] are those from the Wings.

ChrisJ your response seems to indicate that I shouldn't. I know I can reuse them. The question I'm trying to ask is should I?

I think it would probably be a safe risk to reuse the fiber ones, they don't crush down to nothing.

Reusing the copper ring ones is just asking for a do-over in my (do-over enhanced)
opinion.

The only risk involved either way is do-over... you'll either have poppy exhaust leak
sounds, or not. If you can't tell you have an exhaust leak from the sound, you probably
don't have an exhaust leak.

My response may sound slightly sarcastic, its not really
I have reused exhaust gaskets a few times. I have also had a couple leaks.  I knew immediately why.  Sure its always best to use new.  Not everyone does every time

I learned a trick to using them twice, by turning them over and re-tighten never had any leaks and I've done this on 5 different Valks...works for me.. cooldude
