"The mountains are calling and I must go."

« on: September 13, 2015, 01:11:17 PM »

Long story short. Had a stuck float that caused gas to soil the driveway and decided to pull the carbs and redo them. I also desmogged while I was at it. For a number of reasons the bike sat for about a year and today I decided to put the carbs back on her. Ran into a problem right off the bat. I have no idea where to hoses from the intake manifolds go. 3 of them are capped and 3 are not. The manual is of no help and there doesn't seem to be any pics anywhere that show where these go. I suspect that maybe they should be capped also since I desmogged but not sure.

Any help much appreciated.

If you have desmogged, then all should be capped, except for #6 witch would be used for the petcock, unless you have changed out the petcock for a non vac model cooldude

If you had a stuck float, I would HIGHLY recommend replacing all 6 of the float needles.  cooldude  They have a very tiny spring that has been working for a   l o n g  time now. Springs get weak after so many working cycles. Could cause a hydrolock situation. $ vs. $$$$.  Shocked
Not just my opinion. Check the archives.
