So, you go for a hundred mile ride on your Valkyrie, then you get home, and right away,
get into your cage and go for a short drive. Wow you say, that is so smooth.

What then would you do to an 800 lb bike to give it the ride of a vehicle?

I mean, what things, both practical and theoretical, would you try to make a
motorcycle have the ride of a car?

If possible, I'll try some of 'em.

All ideas welcome.

A car tire and aftermarket shocks made a huge difference on my Interstate.

I guess it depends on what car you're comparing it to. My Valkyrie is lots smoother than my car - I can feel the painted lines on the road in my car. 2funny

Yeah, I don't know what kind of cage you have, but my Valkyrie on power delivery, cornering and braking is as smooth as any car i've driven.  Bumps however are another matter.  There, I think suspension and tires are the things to get dialed in for a smoother ride on a Valkyrie.

Progressive 416 Air shocks, Progressive springs in front, Dbl darkside with front tire being bias so it's run at lower pressure, back car tire run at 32#.  The bike has a cushier ride than any of my cages.

Low air pressure on balloon tires might give you a soft ride,
but not a sports-car ride... an acorn makes coffee fly out of
my cup in the Mini, but I wouldn't want to turn it into
a squishy ride...
