I really need to know and I have been a toolman urrgh urrgh power freak for years. Not picking, just curious. I used  to ride a Honda 750 K2 against Kwaka 900s and Suz 750 triples ...water cooled.....!!! etc and we all did top speed trials for HP and top gear take-offs for torque and simple drags for sheer grunt.  We also overbored ad cam-shafted to the bazinga.  etc

I am a total noob to the Valk scene AND I have a trike...but I have to ask, what is it with all the power-freak stuff? Trigger wheels and ect mods and people talking of blowing the motor (not sure if that was turbo or super, but I suspect super as there was mention of fuel consumption going out the door).

The Valk is a cruiser, right? Having blapped my trike once (not rego'd yet and still riding on my largish private block)  I am already in awe of its torque.

So are you guys still in the power game? Please  forgive me. I sort of understand. But maybe I have not caught the "not quite cruiser" idea of the Valk....

...having bought my trike and looking at it...I can see where the "not quite cruiser" comes from...the Valk is a horny (HAH!) machine.

Do you guys really _need_ more power?  Is this just to blow away Harleys? Cheesy

Again, I now have a Valk and I am not stirring. I just thought I bought a cruiser.

Sorry guys. I read futrher and found "roll ons" and 'torque tests" and "power"  etc and realised that this "cruiser " mob  is just as bad as we were, back in the day. Great!

I remember roll-ons...HAH! Luvvitt!

I know fast Valkyrie riders who don't care anything about superchargers,
and any of the supercharger folks would at best be able to keep up
with them in the mountains.

But superchargers *must* be fun, so there's your answer  Wink

"I sort of understand" ....... No you don't. Especially if you think your trike is fast. Does anybody on this board know what a troll is? This is the second post lately that qualifies. The other was in the 1800 board where some idiot couldn't believe that most of us still like the 1500 better. I personally think putting a cup holder on a bike is complete insanity but I USUALLY keep that to myself  angel

shrug...whatever...not a troll at all. I am just surprised that what I thought of as a cruiser is being worked on as a monster.

I like to ride.  Distances.  I have TWO cupholders on mine.  Both on the handlebar. And a 400w stereo with 4 speakers on a std.  And a huge alternator so I can run crazy-bright lights and electric clothes and an air compressor. And 326 LED's to show off at night. And forward controls that work and don't need adjusting. And a fire-truck horn. And a GPS with weather doppler radar. And a radar detector. And five-inch custom exhaust.  I don't care if it's not your cup of tea.  It's my bike and it makes ME happy. Not selling it.  But I have shared how I did these mods for those who would also like them, but are not tech-savvy.

HAH! Young!  When I was riding the K2 750 it was brand spanking new! _Then_ I was young  Angry

OK. Sounds good. I guess I have just been away from bikes for a while. Mind you I was driving a 200HP bulldozer for a while. All of the guys who I knew that drove bulldozers seemed very....calm...contented. They say it all with a blade or a rake, or a tree arm or ripper Smiley

Especially if you think your trike is fast.

Load your bike on the trailer and head out here to the
Southern mountains to see if you can keep up with
our triked Valkyrie riders...  cooldude

Hey Oldnick, I'm with you, on a cruiser, why all the extra power stuff? The forte of a cruiser is to relax and take in the country at 45 mph. What is extra power gonna help that. Now I like HP as much as the next guy, but if I want real speed, i just get on my sport bike. You want power? You want speed? Flog one of those!

I dunno, last Spring, I sold my 3rd Vmax <sniff>.    Similar factory torque and HP numbers to the  1500 Valkyrie and 100 pounds less weight.

Yet, by the time I was done with it, displacement grew by 80cc, ignition via Accel, Stage 7 induction and Kerker 4 to 1 brought numbers (dyno'd) to 133HP/111TQ at the wheel.

It was still a cruiser.  A very tough cruiser.  I miss it and will have another before I exit stage left.  Let's just say that a "hotted up" Valkyrie is outmatched.
