Hey guys, has anyone bought saddlebag rails from USABiker and if so did you have any problems with install. There are only 3 pieces left, right, and center so should be pretty simple. My problem is with the center piece that makes the rails a continuous piece. I think I know where to mount it and that is to the Ome chrome piece that is under the saddlebags but there piece is narrower than the ome crossover piece and I cannot tie the 2 pieces together. I could see from their picture that I would probably need to buy different bolts or spacers and I'm fine with that. I have contacted USABiker and was ask to send pictures which I did, he also suggested that I take it to a professional and have them install. They advertise as a perfect fit which the rails seem to be its just supporting the center piece that is the problem. A simply step 1, step 2, and step 3 from the manufacture would let me know if their part is wrong for my bike which is a 2000 Tourer, any suggestions would really be appreciated.

See if you can dig up a copy of the Honda Saddle Bag Rail pdf file. That's what I'd used for my after market e-bay rails which helped a lot. I think Dag's site in Norway may have had a copy to download.

I got a set off eBay from a guy down in Texas.... so that might be him... they were like $200
No real problems, just had to get some longer bolts and finagle a bit, needed to use a big bar clamp to get the back pieces tight together the way I liked it, but they look good and no rust or bad chrome after 2 years......

Mike, that is exactly what I bought. My problem is those #8 bolts will bolt to ome bracket but the piece is not wide enough to bolt to the other side of the ome bracket IF THAT IS WHERE THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BOLT. I hope you get what part I am trying to bolt them to, it is not shown in diagram. Thanks for taking the time to try and help me out. Steve

Brad, Texas is where they came from and they were around $200. Probably same as yours, they seem to be well built nice chrome and all bolt holes line up. You say you had to use a bar clamp to pull them together to bolt onto ome clamps. Their part is about 3/4 on an inch to narrower than the clamps that I think they bolt to. Does that sound about how yours were they are advertised as a perfect fit so I was thinking that the center piece was possibly for a different bike. I bought them through USABiker part# L5. Thanks for your input and that I might have to use a clamp on the ome part to make theirs work.

I guess you have the little clamp pieces in the 2nd PDF... there's a wrong way to fasten them that I think looks like the obvious right way. If that is your problem, you will eventually see the right way and your problem will be solved... maybe one of us needs to stick a camera under the fender and show you... I'll try to get such a picture before I head off for work...
Sorry, no pic this morning...

That centerpiece has to bolt to the inside of the existing clamps. The bolts go from the center of the bike out. If there are from the outside in, turn the clamps around.

:)Thanks guys, this has been driving me . I was trying to use the clamps the same why that they came off I had at one point had one turned one way and the other side the opposite and was able to force them together but that put one side at an angle and would not slip over exsisting tube. I sent pictures to the distributor and he emailed me this morning saying that their part would not fit my bike and to send it back for refund. I can usually figure things out and then read instructions. These come with no instruction and I could not see past the fact that their part was narrower than the part it bolts to. Thanks Indy for turning the clamps around and the rest of the guys that sent diagrams with instructions. Maybe this will help someone else who can't get past the visual difference of the two parts. If you have the knock-off rails from ebay that I thought you had, I hope you don't send them back... before the knock-offs, rails were so scarce that I saw a new OEM set sell for $1,000 at InZane in 2008 or so! I paid $600 or $700 for my used ones back then.
The knock-offs (if that is what you have) only fit Valkyries, and if you want bag rails on your Valkyrie they are a great option that lots of people have and like.
Hopefully people who have mounted the knock-offs will chime in and help here...
