After Church today I rode to Laurens (150 mile round trip) for the funeral of a member (past
commander) of my SCV camp. I was unprepared for the large number of people in attendance,
and the centrality to the funeral of the camp members... I should have come in the car in
a suit, I was under-dressed. There were color guard reenactors, an artillery unit, the coffin
was draped with a Confederate flag and a tartan. The soldiers and the camp members sat as
a unit and moved from the Church to the graveyard as a unit right behind the family, with me in
draggin jeans, motorcycle boots and a sport coat... at least I managed to ditch my helmet...

It was a beautiful service, Ludie Watkins is no longer suffering and is in Heaven...
